I recently earned my PhD in American Studies from Brown University and am currently a postdoc at MIT in the Department of Global Studies and Languages. My research is on the history of Chinese restaurants in the United States, and I am use both qualitative and quantitative methods to tell this story. I have created a database on historical Chinese restaurants for my dissertation, and I am working on a web-based digital humanities project on Chinese migration, where I will make this database public. I intend to make this DH project a space for people to share their data on Chinese migration, and to create with visualization of data.
