- I labor in the information mill that is the publishing arm of the Graduate School of Business Administration at Harvard University: the Harvard Business School Publishing Company, along the banks of the river Charles, at the Arsenal in Watertown, Massachusetts.
- B.A. in English, M.L.I.S. in Library and Information Studies (U.C. Berkeley "iSchool").
- Previously in Digital Library Research Group at M.I.T. Libraries. Before that in web development consulting, a software firm, electronic publishing.
- Interested in text, metadata, linked data, annotation, data modelling, information design problems. Oh, and literature, plus small philosophy and less economics.
- Hobbyist autodidact programmer in Javascript (Node.js), MongoDB, Python, Racket. Taker of MOOC offerings in earnest (edX, Coursera).
- Personal project: Mostly as testing ground, writing a private, very short form, small-sized, three-part, multi-year journal + quotations book -- Would like to design and code an inventive online presentation for its pint-sized complexities, interesting intersections, see what can be extracted, re-aligned, possibly exposed to user annotation; then extend learnings to other text applications. For me, this is all quite ambitious. We'll see...
